Transcending Reality

The Triangle

For those of you who are reading this, there is a good chance you and I are living in different realities. The realities overlap, but are also comparably different. It's the equivalent of looking at spilled gasoline in a puddle. Depending on your angle of sight you will see a different color. Same gasoline, same puddle, but different experience.

You could call Reality the manifestation of Consciousness. It presents itself in a way that guides our experience based on our personal "definitions" of reality.

Where Am I?

The possibilities of reality are infinite. Here are just a few of the more popular reality frameworks:

Maybe you think that you exist in a type of Matrix, a simulation where truth remains hidden behind the illusion of your virtual reality.

Maybe you're on a prison planet, trapped by an alien civilization in endless cycles of reincarnation and material suffering.

Maybe you're walking the path to enlightenment, seeking teachers and answers you believe you're not yet worthy to receive.

Maybe you're in a video game, the player trying to beat the level or the game while everything conspires to stop you.

Maybe you see yourself as a type of knight in a religious battle, fighting good versus evil until you pass from this life.

Or maybe your reality is cancer. Trauma. Exhaustion.

Pick Your Poison

Are any of these correct? Could any of these be the reality you are living in? Yes, and no. Your version of reality really just serves you in a way. Without your defined version of reality, it couldn't provide you the opportunity to perform against its contrast. Your version of reality is the gift that will keep on giving until you pass. But it doesn't have to be that way.

Reality Override

What happens if you get moved into or decide to consciously switch your version of reality? You will take in new definitions, beliefs, ideas and then apply them and "surprise!", a new reality takes form.

For example if the religious knight loses interest and turns his attention to the simulation theory? Well, he takes all of his religious experiences and re-writes them within the scope of a simulation theory reality. Then which reality is he really in? He is in another version of reality that serves him.

Overriding your version of reality with a new version of reality will not help you. It just muddies the waters of an already unclear view of what you believe reality to be.

The Reality Puzzle

In every version of the reality examples I listed above, there is something to complete. In the Prison Planet idea, we are trying to escape prison. In the simulation theory reality, we are trying to see behind the simulation. In the version where we are seeking enlightenment, we keep walking, trying to find enlightenment through achievement and effort. In the video game reality, we are trying to win, beat the game using any tool or knowledge that lends an advantage. In the religious battle reality, we are fighting to triumph over good and evil, perpetually.

Does the effort into solving or completing any of these versions of reality have merit over any other? Maybe. But the truth is they all use the same mode of understanding to complete the puzzle.

Doing. Effort.

The Trap

Every reality framework I've described operates on the same fundamental assumption: that freedom comes through action, through doing something, through effort applied in the right direction with the right knowledge.

But here's what binds you: You unknowingly perpetuate the reality you exist in by introducing effort into solving or changing it. Your effort is garnered as fuel for your reality to continue building upon itself like a never-ending tunnel of experience. It happens without you realizing it.

Your effort to achieve a state, your reality's fuel, stems from your "definitions" of how to operate against it, solve it, or succeed in it. Not the universal laws of reality and consciousness, your laws, given permission to exist by your intellect, consciously, unconsciously, or both.

Your measurement and definition of the reality you exist in, combined with the effort you add to it, continue the cycle of its existence. It perpetuates infinitely until you pass, or you start again into a new reality with your new measurements, definitions, beliefs, and ideologies. It is a continuous cycle. It is a trap. A trap that you unknowingly continue to build.

And beneath this trap lies fear. Your fear of the loss of control of your existence, which in itself drives your desired efforts. Fear born from lack of knowledge about the true nature of reality and consciousness. Fear based on the inability to act correctly. Fear that you aren't enough. Fear that you aren't ready. This fear drives more effort, which feeds more reality, which creates more fear. You are bound and blind, locked in the trap, a self-perpetuating cycle.

Let's simplify. Say you find out that all realities stem from just one of these example realities. Would it clarify your efforts for achieving freedom, giving you a clear target to chase? Will it give you a clear definition of a path or a plan on how to succeed in your existence? Maybe it gives you the feeling of an advantage based on the spiritual or intellectual knowledge you hold from years of effort.

Or, inversely, you just feel completely lost, struggling to find direction. The desire to understand reality might provide a level of grief or fear so great, that you will not be able to come to terms with your version of reality before passing.

Reality's Design

Reality doesn't create random obstacles. It generates circumstances precisely calibrated to your weaknesses. Your illness. Your trauma. Your financial pressure. Your relationship struggles. Your insecurity. Your fear of failure. Your need to be worthy. It presents exactly the challenges that will trigger your compulsive doing, your desperate seeking, your endless effort to fix, achieve, overcome.

This is why switching reality frameworks doesn't work. You take your same weaknesses into the new reality, and the new reality immediately begins constructing circumstances around those same vulnerabilities. Different game, same fuel source: you.

But what if there was a way—"the way"—to unlock the trap? A way to transcend all possible realities regardless of which version you are currently experiencing and locked in?

The One Solution

Of all the frameworks I've described, only one requires nothing. Not information. Not money. Not location. Not effort. Not anything.

Being. Not doing. Being.

Every other path is material. The prison planet, the simulation, the video game, the religious battle, even cancer, all material struggles. All require doing something, achieving something, winning something. All operate within duality, the endless cycle of opposites: good/evil, winning/losing, trapped/free, sick/healthy. As long as you're playing the game of opposing forces, you're still in the game.

But enlightenment, true enlightenment, relates to the immaterial nature of your consciousness.

To escape, to transcend, you must become intangible, immaterial. Because it's all illusion.

The question is: are you doing within the illusion of your reality, or have you transcended it?

Being is the only thing unnatural to the materially-driven human condition. It's the only thing that breaks the cycle. When you simply "Be", reality has nothing to build upon. There is no effort to fuel its creation. No definitions to perpetuate it. No fear to feed it.

This is why Being steps you off the gerbil wheel of existence. It breaks the illusion of progress. It frees you from duality.

If you're spiritually aware, you already sense this. Duality is visible everywhere you look. And the solution—Being—applies to all circumstances, all realities, all frameworks. But the inverse is not true. No amount of doing within one version of reality will set you free from reality itself. You cannot "do" yourself to transcendence and enlightenment.

Recognizing the Difference

How do you know if you're doing or Being?

If you're meditating to achieve enlightenment, that's doing. If you're resting as the awareness that's already here, that's Being.

If you're trying to understand this post intellectually, analyzing whether it fits your current framework, that's doing. If you're feeling something shift within you as you receive the message between the words, that's Being touching you. "Knowing".

If you're seeking the right teacher, the right technique, the right knowledge to finally break free, that's doing. If you recognize there's nothing to seek because you are already what you are looking for, that's Being.

Doing always involves effort, movement toward something, a gap between where you are and where you think you need to be. Being recognizes the gap was always an illusion. You're already here. You have always been here.

The trap is subtle: the moment you try to "achieve" Being, you've collapsed back into doing. Being cannot be practiced. It can only be recognized. It can only be experienced.

The Triangle

Picture a triangle. At the bottom, the wide base, are the many paths, the ways of the many. This is where humanity lives: all the different people holding all their different beliefs, measurements, and definitions of what reality is. Every framework I've described exists here. The prison planet theory, the simulation, the video game, the religious battle, the path of seeking. All of them. Different angles, different colors in the gasoline puddle, but all paths that require doing, effort, action, knowledge, tools, techniques, access.

At the top of the triangle is a single point, "the one". This is the path that can only be traveled by the one, not the many. It is the pathless path. The effortless effort. Being itself.

The many seek to climb the triangle through doing, through accumulating knowledge, through effort and achievement. But the triangle cannot be climbed from the bottom. The one recognizes they are already at the top, they just choose to stop feeding the illusion that they're at the bottom.

Are you the one? Or are you the ninety-nine?

The message I received while on the other side about the knowledge I returned with is: "The information is for the one, not the ninety-nine". This isn't about being chosen or special. You can be the one. But most choose to remain the ninety-nine because the way of the one requires something the ego cannot tolerate: the complete surrender of effort, of seeking, of the belief that you need to become something other than what you already are.

The ninety-nine exclude themselves from transcendence. They choose the complexity of doing over the simplicity of Being. Your free will decides which you are.

The Two Avenues

There are two avenues before you.

One requires highly customized information specifically applied within the correct threshold for success. This is the way of the many. It demands you know which reality you're in, what the rules are, what techniques to apply, what knowledge to acquire, what actions to take. It's exhausting.

It's endless. And it keeps you trapped in the very framework you're trying to escape.

The other requires nothing. This is the way of the one.

It's the only thing you have control over. Whether you pass tomorrow or fifty years from now. Whether you are in one version of reality or another. Regardless of race, religion, creed, wealth, geographic location, language, or anything else.

The one solution. One answer. One method. One understanding.

Be. Turn within.

What does "turn within" actually mean?

It means stop looking for answers outside yourself, in teachers, in frameworks, in knowledge systems, in techniques. It means recognizing that consciousness itself, the awareness reading these words right now, is not trapped in any reality. Only the mind believes it is.

To turn within is to shift attention from the content of experience to the awareness experiencing it. From the movie to the screen. From the waves to the ocean. From thought to the thinker, and then realizing there is no thinker, only the thinking, only the awareness itself.

When you turn within, you stop seeking freedom and recognize you are the freedom you were seeking. Not as a concept. As a felt recognition. Immediate. Already here. Always here.

This is what Being feels like: a deep peace that doesn't depend on circumstances. A recognition that has no opposite. The end of seeking because you realize there was never anything to find. You don't become intangible, you recognize you were never truly the tangible form to begin with. You are the formless awareness in which all forms appear.

Conclusion

Being is not a technique. It's not something you achieve through practice or effort. It cannot be taught in the traditional sense because there is nothing to learn. You either recognize it or you don't.

The irony is that in reading this, you may try to understand it intellectually, to figure out how to "do" Being. But that very effort is the thing that keeps you from it.

Stop seeking. Stop doing. Stop trying to solve the puzzle, win the game, escape the prison, see behind the simulation.

Just be.

You already are what you're looking for. You always have been. The only thing standing between you and freedom is the belief that you need to do something to get there.

Turn within. The answer was never out there. It's here. It always has been.
